Using newer iOS devices with old xcode

<SUPPORT IMAGE FILES ARE LINKED AT END OF ARTICLE.>

Some people are not able to install newer xCode version which have support for their newer iOS devices. Apparently, there is a way to add support to older versions of xcode:

You need to put DeveloperDiskImage of iOS version in:
/Applications/Xcode8.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport

^(you access this location by right clicking the xcode application in the osx programs folder, and select 'show package contents')
here
and you can find this diskImage in newer xCode at same path in case you want to continue with an older xCode.
Example path of iOS Disk Image:
~/Applications/Xcode9.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/11.0

UPDATE: iOS 8.0-12 users; here are JUST the support folders:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1lpEWD3zIk-ZqWN7_bosFViE6iA1bwLmK

download that .zip file, extract the folder for required ios version

copy the folder to the location listed above.
