UPDATE: i figured out how to load coords into the app. enter coords with the keyboard into the 'lat' and 'lon' boxes, but do NOT delete the period in the coords. if you can key in the coords without deleting the period, the app will instantly update to the specified location. If you delete the period the app will crash.
0: launch pokemon go app on iOS device
1: make sure iOS device is being recognized by OSX. You can check this by opening iTunes in OSX.
***[If you are running an OSX Virtual Machine, you may need to open iTunes in the windows host and disconnect your iOS device from Windows, or try plugging and unplugging device several times. in vmware, you will probably need to change USB settings to 'usb 2.0' mode.]
2: google "Xcode" and go to the download site.
3: sign in with your apple id:
5: search the 'more downloads' page for xcode. download 'xcode 9.3.xip'. this is a large file and will take some time to transfer.
6: when download completes, extract the xcode installer.
"expanding" dialogue will display:
7: open the freshly extracted xcode installer and complete the installation:
8: Quit xcode when the installer completes.
9: download pokemongo-webspoof app at https://github.com/iam4x/pokemongo-webspoof
10: when download completes, extract pokemongo-webspoof app.
11: launch the extracted pokemongo-webspoof app
12: when you try to open the webspoof app, you should recieve an error message about the app being from an untrusted developer. click OK to clear the error. go into apple>system preferances>security and privacy, and click 'open anyway' next to where the webspoof app is mentioned. click 'open' again when prompted.
13: wait for pokemongo-webspoof app to open, Xcode will also open.
!!!Do not click anything until Xcode is open!!!
14: in the top left bar in Xcode next to where it says pokemon web spoof, select your connected iOS device. make sure you select your device by it's specific name such as 'eric's iphone'. the other options in the menu with generic names like "iphone 6" are simulators.
15: go to Xcode>preferences>accounts and add your legit Apple ID. Close the preferences window afterwards.
16: select “pokemon-webspoof” blue bundle icon on left side of the screen.
17: under general > identity, change the part of the bundle id that says “iam4x” to something different.
Use the same bundle id every time to avoid hitting a limit on your developer profile.
18: under ‘signing’, select your personal team name from the drop down menu.
you will need to wait a moment while xcode registers this change.
19: on the top left corner in xcode, click the play button.
16: you should get a “could not launch error” if it’s your first time doing this. this is normal and is supposed to happen.
17: go into your iOS device settings (on your phone). General > device management > 'your apple-id' name > and click “trust”. click trust again when prompted.

22: go back into Xcode and hit the play button again.
23: in Xcode, click debug>simulate location>'pokemon location'
24: go back to pokemongo-webspoof app and clear out the red errors. You can now move with keyboard or move/teleport to a destination.
Enter an address in the destination search bar and click a location on the drop-down auto-complete to select it. You will be given autowalk options in addition to a teleport button.
to manually change coords, edit them WITHOUT deleting the period in the coords. if you delete the period the app will crash.
please observe pokemon-go cooldown times when travelling.
